Behind Closed Doors depicts the life of an Asian American mother and her three children. The work highlights the dynamics between each relationship to represent their interpersonal experiences. Behind Closed Doors investigates the complexities of familial expectations and cultural values specific to the AAPI experience. Sourcing from personal history, the piece examines the navigation of individual perspectives that interact with one another. Shedding light on the unspoken internal conflicts, Behind Closed Doors utilizes movement and narrative to display a process of healing, resilience, and empowerment.
